Reno is nestled in the foothills of the majestic Sierra Nevada Range. Popularly known as “America’s Adventure Place”, the town is surrounded by an abundance of outdoor recreation, arts and culture, gaming and nightlife.

Reno is also home to first-rate hotels, golf courses and casinos and has become a popular destination thanks to Lake Tahoe, the perfect, year-round vacation place.
Located at an elevation of 4400 feet above sea level, in a high desert plateau, Reno has an average of 300 sunny days a year with a mean temperature of 53 degrees.

Airport to fly into: RNO (Reno/Tahoe Intl. Airport)

Shuttle Schedule to and from the Grand Sierra Resort:

  • from the Airport: The Shuttle leaves from the exit located at the far end of baggage claim every 15 and 45 minutes past the hour daily between 5:15 am and 11:45 pm.

  • from the Hotel: The Shuttle leaves the hotel on the hour and half hour, daily between 5:00 am and 11:30 pm.

 

Pre-requisites

Remember that it is imperative that you have completed the Class-on-Demand for Advanced Technologies prior to attending this bootcamp. If you have not yet completed it, please ensure you do prior to coming to Reno. It is available in your member’s account. Also, being comfortable with the first 5 labs on IEWB-RS Volume II will be very useful to you. Please practice them as well, if you have not already done so. If you need more explanation about the pre-requisites, please contact us.

What to bring

Please make sure you bring a laptop computer with wifi capabilities and a telnet application such as PuTTY or SecureCRT if you are on a Windows laptop. If you have an Apple Macintosh laptop, OS X’s “Terminal” application will work as well.

Meals Provided

Drinks and snacks are available throughout the day. A continental breakfast will be provided and vouchers for meals will be given for lunch and dinner, a list of places that the vouchers are accepted will be provided at the Bootcamp.

  • The Lodge Buffet:newest buffet featuring a cozy atmosphere, a spectacular array of food and exciting action-cooking stations.
  • Cafe Sierra: serves breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday. Enjoy American Classics such as Chicken Fried Steak, or for a more gourmet flare, try the Filet Mignon or Shrimp Scampi.
