Hi,
I would like to thank you for the excellent study material that helped me to successfully pass the security lab in Brussels on my first attempt. Nothing that the lab asked for scared me or caught me off guard - in my opinion this is because of excellent preparation with the help of your materials.

Have you previously failed the CCIE lab exam, not because you did not understand the technologies, but because you were unable to complete them in a timely fashion? Do you find yourself skipping or not reaching such configuration sections as IP Services, Security, or QoS in your practice labs because of the time spent trying to get end-to-end reachability for IP? Are you looking for ways to improve your speed and accuracy on the core technologies (Ethernet Switching, Frame Relay, OSPF, Route Redistribution, etc) for the CCIE Lab Exam? If you answered yes to any of these questions Internetwork Expert's CCIE Routing & Switching Lab Workbook Volume III is for you.
Overview
Internetwork Expert's CCIE Routing & Switching Lab Workbook Volume III is a self-paced product designed specifically to improve your speed and accuracy at the configuration and verification of the core CCIE Routing & Switching technologies. This product focuses solely on getting to the point in the actual CCIE Lab Exam where you have full IP reachability. In the actual CCIE Lab Exam you can expect to have 40 to 50 points related to these core technologies. Without getting at least 90% of these points along with end-to-end IP reachability you cannot expect to pass the CCIE Lab Exam. This product is designed for candidates who feel solid with their understanding of the core technologies and are within 6 months of their lab date. It is the only product on the market with this unique focus on speed and accuracy.
The Lab Workbook Volume III consists of 10, 4-hour lab scenarios, each of which are divided into various sections totaling approximately 50 points. The goal of this workbook is to make core Layer 2 and Layer 3 configurations second nature, increasing your speed of configuration and eliminating the need for you to reference Cisco's documentation or the context sensitive help during the CCIE Lab Exam. To accomplish this each of the sections within a scenario are assigned both a point value and a target time for configuration and verification. This format allows you to easily assess your own readiness by timing your configuration.

Content
Each of the labs contained in Internetwork Expert's CCIE Routing & Switching Lab Workbook Volume III is designed to be configured within a 4-hour time frame. Scenarios in the workbook are broken down into 5 core technology sections. The 5 core technology sections are as follows:
- Catalyst 3550
- Frame Relay
- HDLC/PPP
- Interior Gateway Routing (RIP, OSPF, EIGRP, and Route Redistibution)
- Exterior Gateway Routing (BGP)
Within these sections each task is assigned a point value and a target time to complete both the configuration and verification. By keeping track of the time that you spend on each section you can determine what your current readiness is while also monitoring your need for improvement in specific areas.

Electronic Solutions Guide for Lab Workbook Volume III (IEWBS-RS-VOL3)
The solutions show the final configuration on a task-by-task basis, as well as relevant "show" command outputs used to verify that the configuration is functional per the requirements. With this format you will not need to sort through a long configuration file to guess which commands correspond to which question. You will know exactly which command or commands correspond to which task, as well as how you can test your configuration in the actual lab exam.

Hardware
The physical hardware specification used for Internetwork Expert's CCIE Routing & Switching Lab Workbook Volume III is identical to that of Internetwork Expert's CCIE Routing & Switching Lab Workbook Volume II (IEWB-RS-VOL2). However, since only core technologies are tested upon, the feature set support is not as strict. This means that the material covered in the core lab workbook can easily be configured on 2500 series routers with the exception of Catalyst 3550 specific features. For more information on the hardware used see the IEWB-RS-VOL2 Hardware Specification.
