The class consists of nearly 80 hours of in depth explanations and examples.

At your convenience, join our highly certified team of CCIE instructors for a comprehensive look at lab exam blueprint topics. The CCIE Routing & Switching Advanced Technologies Class is presented on-screen using a sequence of slides, lectures, explanations, diagrams, and live command-line viewing. This 80+ hour class is presented in an easy to follow format and allows you to choose from a variety of convenient study methods.

Learning Outcomes

The extreme level of detail covered by this course will provide you with a firm foundation in the CCIE lab blueprint topics and prepare you for practicing full-scale lab exams in our R&S Lab Workbooks.

Recommended Background

Because introductory material is not covered, candidates for this class should already have a CCNP or equivalent level-of-knowledge. This class will also benefit CCIE candidates who have attempted the actual CCIE Lab Exam without passing and feel they need to take their knowledge and understanding of such crucial topics as IGP Redistribution, BGP, IPv6, and QoS to the next level before attempting the CCIE Lab again.

80 Hours of Technology Instruction in a Two-Week Format

Week One

View technologies in week one

Week one of class includes 40+ hours of hands-on lecture on core CCIE Routing & Switching topics, and is spent exposing the fundamental principles behind the technologies covered in the CCIE R&S Lab Exam. This week is designed to provide you with foundational technical understanding, not to supply candidates with tips and tricks to pass your Lab Exam. The key to passing the CCIE Lab Exam is to fully understand how to configure, verify, and troubleshoot the technologies covered in this week in a structured manner. Attempting the CCIE Lab without a full and in-depth understanding of these technologies leaves the candidate with little to no real chance of passing the exam, as these technologies are the building blocks of the actual CCIE Lab Exam. Amr Sabbagh - CCIE #21536

I graduated from university last year. I had a new goal after I graduated, that was the CCIE R&S. I started my CCIE R&S journey with watching the CoD videos. It took me about 10 days to finish all videos with note taking. Then I started Workbook I. It took me about 1 month to finish all the minilabs in it. After that I started working on Workbook volume II. It took me another month to finish most of it. The third month i went back to study WorkBook I because I felt its importance in emphasizing the basics. The fourth month was the time to take the exam. I signed up to take it in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia mobile CCIE lab. It was required from me to pass an assessor exam which was a mini CCIE exam. I took that exam and I scored the required grade. My exam was confirmed on 20th of July 2008. I had 20 days to go, I spent the next days revising WorkBook I and WorkBook II. Also I spent some time going through Cisco Documentation CD. The night before the exam I slept at 10 p.m and next day started my exam at 7:30. I had a good start but faced some problems before the break. After the break I fixed everything and completed all the sections 1 hour before the time is up. I had 1 hour to revise everything. The next day I received the good news that I've become CCIE #21536 :)
Dawood Ahmed Ghani - CCIE #21766
First of all i thanks my God who give me this success, i cleared my R&S lab in third attempt, it was very long and hard journey, I really advise all to go IE work books, online boot camp and COD which help you dig deep and help you understand the techonolgies very deeply and clearly. At the end i will say that passing CCIE not only R&S but all track with out more or less help from INTERNETWORKEXPERT is IMPOSIBLE.
David McKone - CCIE #22787
Finally and at long last I got my CCIE R&S.

Many thanks for putting out those great products of yours as they really helped me with my training.

Workbooks and Class on Demand to help me learn and prepare for the real thing and mock labs to test my progress.

And making Workbook II for use on Dynamips really helped keep the cost down.

Many thanks to all at Internetwork Expert for their great work.
Christopher Huang - CCIE #21664
I successfully passed the R&S exam earlier this week. Your advanced CoD and mock labs are excellent and proved very helpful in supplementing my studies. Many thanks to the Internetwork Expert!
Kah (Edward) Wong - CCIE #21524
I passed my CCIE written in January 2007, and then due to work commitments, started to think about studying for the lab around October 2007. I bought the CCIE R&S end to end program from Internetwork Expert and found the material outstanding. Both the lab workbooks and the COD were particularly thought provoking and often led me to hours of extra reading on the DOC CD and internet just to clarify in my mind the concepts and particulars of the different features. This was great and by the time I actually sat the lab exam, I was confident that the Internetwork Expert materials have given me sufficient breath and depth of understanding to tackle anything that the lab throws at me. I am glad that my confidence was well placed, and passed the lab attempt on my first try. Studying for the CCIE is very time consuming and lots of sacrifices had to be made, but it has been very worthwhile and made me a much better engineer in the process.
Timor Sharifkulov - CCIE #23544
I've got my number on my second attempt, and I must say that IEs gave me everything I needed for succeeding.

Initially I've bought only the COD. Couple of months later I have made the final four in the "Real people scholarship program" and I've got the End-to-End R&S course as a price for reaching the final.

After the COD I started on the unbelievable Workbooks 1 and then 2.

Most of the scenarios I did in Dynamips and on real equipment that I had from my work place. I could see the difference in self confidence after only 5 WB2 labs. I did my first attempt after 12 WB labs and I was short +\- 6,7 points. For my second attempt I did the whole 20 labs and guess what - I PASSED!!!

I truly believe that IEs are the best learning tool there is on the market today. I felt from the beginning that they're teaching me the technology in depth instead of teaching the tricks and cheats of the exam.

Thanks for everything Brians(X2), Petr, Anthony and Scott (the evil dude).
Ali Syed - CCIE #22348
Hello,

I have passed my CCIE R&S exam yesterday in DUBAI
Thanks very much for the excellent material (COD/workbooks)

You are the best
Libor Jakubec - CCIE #21483
When I joined Cisco in August 2007 one of the most challenging task they gave me was to pass CCIE lab within first year. At the end it turned out to be less than 3 months to pass it. I couldn't imagine how to approach it at that time, but then I attended 2 day strategy bootcamp lead by Brian Dennis. His advices and strategy tips really help me to stop loosing time and start my highly effective preparation. I started with CCIE R&S Advanced Technologies Class-on-Demand which is truly the best source of lab theory which make my life much easier so many times. After theory classes I begun to work on labs from Workbook Volume 2. Even though first few labs took me 2 days to complete one of them, I didn't give up and it paid off. 6 weeks before lab I attended CCIE R&S 5 Day Bootcamp lead by Brian McGahan in Amsterdam. Excellent Brian's experience and knowledge helped me a lot to fill understanding gaps and move time needed to about 8 hours. After bootcamp I focused only on labs from Workbook Vol.2 from where I completed almost all 20 of them. In the meantime I took 3 mock labs which turned out to be another great experience on my way to CCIE. Especially proctor's notes were extremely useful to realize how important are small details on real lab. And after less than 3 months of preparation with Internetwork Expert I passed my lab in Brussels on first attempt. Big, big thank you for your brilliant products and special thanks to both Brians for helping people with this industry the most difficult exam.
Internetwork Expert is the way to pass CCIE lab by strong understanding of technology and ability to configure, verify and troubleshoot them.
Thanks again.
Rami Bakri - CCIE #21544
Hello IE Team,

I wanted to share that I passed the R&S lab last July 21. It was an achievement which I could only dream of obtaining if not for without your products. Throughout my preparation for the R&S lab, I had to rely heavily on Internetwork Expert's Workbooks and Class-on-Demand -- the quality of these products are EXCELLENT! And I can't wait to start using your products again when I go for my second CCIE.

Keep up the great work!
Reza Toghraee - CCIE #22518
I passed the R&S in my first attempt.

I'm very happy about my investment on Internetwork Expert. I used the self-paced program. I watch the COD 2 times. also I was very lucky, 3 days before my exam the VOL1 Ver 5 for IP services and system management released. its a real GEM and is a MUST.

The other special unique specification of Internetwork Expert is its people. the people whom take care of students, especially Mr Anthony who helped me a lot.

Internetwork expert was recommended to me by a friend and I recommend to everyone who would like to get it in the first attempt.
Keith Tokash - CCIE #21236
I'd like to thank the Brians for putting together a step-by-step program for the candidate who knows he/she would like to pursue the R&S CCIE, but isn't sure where to start. I used all three volumes and the CoD, and they all helped me master technologies to the point where when I finally tested, I had no fear of the technology whatsoever - I knew that as long as I read carefully they could not trick me anymore. Before I started using IE, I was puttering about, just trying to learn things on my own, and getting nowhere. Less than a year after buying the material I passed the lab on my first attempt.
Ioan Branet - CCIE #23474
Hello,

I want to inform you that I've passed the R&S lab exam on friday 6 feb on my first attempt.

I used IE Volume 1, Volume 2, Mock labs, Poly labs, Rack rentals and dynamips.

I started to prepare for the lab on January 2007 and 3 weeks before my lab I prepared 12-13 hours/day( doing labs, reading doccd and watching video materials at home without any pressure or disturbance).

I considered the lab at a rate of 7.5- 8 comparing with the difficulty of the IE Labs.

2 of the Open Ended questions was not so easy and made me think verry carefully about what they want from me and the other 2 questions were verry easy if you know the staff.

The diagrams from IE are very nice comparing with the diagrams from lab and I make my own diagram with colours/pencils.

I finished the lab in 5 hours and 30 minutes and I had enogh time to recheck all tasks twice and I found two faults and I corrected them.

I want to say that IE COD materials were great and helped me a lot(I watched 4-5 times all materials) .

I've done VOL2 1-20 labs 3 times (2 times using dynamips and one time using IE Rack Rentals) ,Mock Labs 1-7 -2 times (the average score was between 80-90 %) and Vol1.v5 1 time using dynamips and read it 2 more times.

I used also Open Lecture series (Video Materials) -watched them one time.

I could't made it for the first time without IE materials.
Craig Campbell - CCIE #20641
Thank you very much for the excellent study material without which I would have had no chance of passing my CCIE R&S Lab.
I passed my R&S Lab in Brussels on Friday 25th April on my 2nd attempt.
Your Lab Workbook is excellent and really covers all technologies. I also found the Advanced Technologies Class and R&S Class-on-Demand excellent resources when starting out on the long lab journey.
Malik Nabeel - CCIE #24859
I always use to read the success story of almost every CCIE on this form to evaluate myself that how I am going and where I am standing to get motivation from them. But today its mine day to write something here. I passed my written exam in March 2008 and thought to move forward towards the lab. But I never knew that how to start and from where to start. I google it and found internetwork expert community as a best resource. I read the note of Brian Dennis "how to become CCIE" that really put me on right track. I planned my study according to that. Started with Advance Technology (R&S) labs, and gone through that twice, then I started volume-2 on 1st lab it took me 3 days with 8 hours working on very 1st lab and I came to know that CCIE is all about dedication. So, I decided to move steadily with motivation towards my goal. I found my self that whenever I repeat the lab I always found new thing or anything that I left unintentional in previous try. I practised as per Brian Denis recommendation 1,2-4,5,7, etc. and practised them over again and again. That improved my grip on technology and CLI typing speed. Gone through CoD over and over and again that's fruitful to you and what I found was to note the important points in CoD (CoD is like golden words that is full of knowledge). That worked and helped me to get prepare for the big day. It took almost 18 months for me to clear the lab with dedicated 8-9 hours study per day.

I used IE's product for open ended question and gone through the document links to find detail about each question that not only helped me in understanding the question but also improved my theoretical knowledge. For open ended questions; I will recommend Anthony Sequeira's book (CCIE quick reference guide)

I am thankful to Brian Dennis/McGahan, Scott Morris, Petr and Anthony for being my teachers in this journey.

I am dedicating my CCIE number to my Country (Pakistan) and to my parents- the balance in my life.
Adeyemi Soyibo - CCIE #20739
I recently passed my CCIE R&S Lab.
I used your class-on-demand and bought time on your racks. Your COD's allowed me to start on my preparations for the lab after passing the written. I thank Brian Dennis and Brian McGahan for their straight forward approach to teaching with the show outputs being very key. Your workbooks allowed me to know all the possibilities and ways to achieve a result the Cisco way. Your outline on Dynamips allowed me to simulate different scenarios that I didn't understand so I could master them. Your blogs are excellent. Keep up the good work. Thanks Guys
